Green Roof (Austerlitz, NY)
spring 2025-present
Widening Circles installed a green roof on top of a dining pavilion on a residential property in Austerlitz, NY in the spring of 2025, with the goals of integrating the pavilion in the surrounding meadows and woodlands and reducing stormwater runoff. The plant palette of the green roof is comprised of mostly native plants, including sedums, Carex appalachia, purple love grass, little bluestem, violets, columbine, nodding onion, and more. The green roof is part of a larger installation which we are excited to share more photos of next season.
“Nellie is a marvel—she not only brings expert skills and vision to her landscaping work, she brings an energy and level of care that is truly remarkable. She will really listen to the client as well as bringing her own deep well of expertise and understanding about native plants, soil composition, land cultivation and management. Working with her has been a real delight and our land has been enriched tremendously.”
